THE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL THERAPY AND ATHLETIC TRAINING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH is seeking faculty candidates to augment its strong rehabilitation research presence. The positions will be full-time tenure line or career line at ranks commensurate with academic and scholarly experience. The primary responsibilities of these positions will be 1) to contribute to and advance the Department's research portfolio through leadership and participation in funded research and 2) to contribute to core teaching needs within the Department's entry level DPT program and Rehabilitation Sciences PhD program.

The applicants should demonstrate strong leadership, communication and collaborative skills. Responsibilities will include participation in collaborative research with colleagues within the College of Health and throughout the University. The successful applicants must be able to demonstrate that they will integrate their expertise to provide valuable contributions to existing and developing educational programs. Successful candidates will have demonstrated expertise in research as well as teaching and their teaching load will be negotiated to allow each candidate to successfully pursue their research agenda. Contributions will include teaching, mentoring, and serving on related committees. Experience in course development and curricular evaluation / modification would be considered a strength. In addition, successful applicants are expected to contribute to a departmental culture and campus environment that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training ( https://health.utah.edu/physical-therapy-athletic-training) is located in the College of Health, and is part of University of Utah Health. University of Utah Health is the major educational, research and referral facility serving the medical needs of Utah and the Intermountain West. The Center includes the Colleges of Health, Nursing and Pharmacy, the Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, University Hospitals and Clinics, the Health Sciences Library and related Core Facilities. In addition to in-house facilities, the College of Health is in close proximity to associated research entities at the VA Medical Center, the Clinical Neurosciences Center, and the University Orthopaedic Center.
