Description
The Department of Mass Media and Strategic Communication at the University of Tennessee at Martin is accepting applications for a part-time (50%) Program Support Assistant position. This position will assist the Program Resource Specialist in providing service to the department chair and faculty.
Responsibilities
• Enter biweekly and monthly payroll
• Verify biweekly payroll and longevity payroll, Maintain payroll files
• Provide clerical support to the Program Resource Specialist, Department Chair, and Faculty
• Process paperwork for new hires (student employees of department and sub-departments)
• Maintain new hire files
• Order and manage office supplies
• Submit textbook orders
• Manage inventory and subscribe to/renew periodicals
• Participate in outreach activities
• Maintain files of current students and graduates, Maintain adviser/advisee entries and files
• Collect faculty resumes, planning and assessment forms, course syllabi, job postings, office hours, and phone bill approvals
• Provide support for the department’s special events and faculty searches

Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational/detail skills with ability to prioritize and multitask
• Self-motivated, self-disciplined, ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
• Office Experience
• Computer proficiency in Word and Excel
