Post Doctoral Associate

The Hatfull lab seeks two Postdoctoral Associates to contribute to investigations of the molecular biology of mycobacteria and their phages. Specific projects could include the screening of clinical isolates of non-tuberculosis mycobacteria for bacteriophage sensitivity profiles, and exploring the determinant of specificity, but could also include the functional genomic analysis of mycobacteriophages, physical characterization of mycobacteriophage virions, analysis of DNA packaging systems including, and the investigation of host- and phage-encoded mechanisms influencing phage-bacterium dynamics as well as student supervision of on-going projects. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with actinobacteriophages including use and development for potential therapeutic studies. These studies will be under the direction of Graham Hatfull and will include participation in the general scholarly activities of our research group.

Qualified applicants will have at minimum a PhD in Microbiology, Biology, Molecular Genetics, or related fields.
