Position Description

Assistant or Associate Professor, Full time, Appointment Stream – Occupational Therapy

  1. A brief statement of duties:

The person filling this position will teach in the graduate professional (OTD) and post-professional (MS, CScD) educational programs in the Department of Occupational Therapy in the area(s) of clinical expertise and support the research and service missions of the Department. This person will teach and supervise students in academic and community-based clinical settings.

  1. Minimum objective qualifications; other desirable qualifications:

This person must be registered as an occupational therapist by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy; be licensed (or eligible for license) to practice occupational therapy in Pennsylvania; have a minimum of a master’s degree; have a minimum of 5 years in occupational therapy including clinical practice and fieldwork or doctoral capstone experience supervision. A strong commitment to enhancing educational programming in the areas of social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion is required. Prior experience teaching at the postsecondary level and an earned doctorate in an area relevant to rehabilitation are strongly preferred. A master’s prepared candidate must be committed to completing a post-professional doctoral degree within two years of hire.

The academic rank will be Assistant or Associate Professor. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

This is an appointment stream, full-time position.

The start date is to be determined in collaboration with the department chair.
