Job Description

The seed laboratory technician will be an integral part of our seed quality processing and seed compositional analyses. Responsibilities will encompass:
  • Seed sample processing, seed cleaning, and seed packaging.
  • Help in the seed compositional analyses, primarily focusing on protein, oil, and fatty acid analyses.
  • Help with seed inventory and cold room management.
  • Help in the collection of data associated with seed quality.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.

In addition to the seed composition and seed quality tasks, the seed laboratory technician will also help in various soybean breeding activities tasks such as planting, crossing, roguing, seed processing, field data collection, and harvesting. The seed laboratory technician will work closely with the Senior Research Associate and will perform other activities or tasks assigned or required.

Shift

Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

  • Possessing a two-year background in agricultural research, preferably within a soybean breeding program.
  • Ability to work independently when needed.
  • Good communication and organization skills.
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy.
  • Cooperative and willing to assist others.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $12.73 - $19.59 per hour.
