Job Description

The Nurse Practitioner – Specialty Care will provide direct patient care under general supervision of the designated Endocrinologist supervising physician providing general and specialized care to patients.

Independently provide professional medical support services by collaborating with physicians and other staff to promote team-based patient care within the division of Endocrinology within the Department of Pediatrics.

Act as a resource person for patients, families, nursing staff and other health care professionals in area of sub-specialty. Effectively intercede with families and patients to resolve concerns related to the delivery of health care services.

Order/perform diagnostic procedures, monitor patient condition, oversee testing and results of diagnostic procedures, and develop treatment goals in sub-specialized healthcare.

Complete patient physical examinations, obtain and document complete and focused patient history and be able to relate other aspects of medical information to the physicians and surgeons.

Demonstrate a high level of autonomy and expert skills in the diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems.

Shift

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Master of Science in Nursing degree. Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. Must be granted a “Document of Recognition” from the Missouri Board of Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

Possess a specialty certificate by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), the Pediatric Certification Nursing Board (PCNB), or the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $90,251-$147,285
