Job Summary
The Department of Psychiatry seeks an independently licensed professional to serve as a member of a mental health team to provide mental health services to adults and families. This position's duties include, but are not limited to individual and group psychotherapy, referrals to community partners, educating patients and families on mental health diagnosis, performing initial diagnostic assessments, and completing appropriate electronic documentation.
Staff therapists will work in a multidisciplinary setting with many opportunities for learning and continuing education. Psychotherapy sessions are performed both in person in the clinic setting as well as through telehealth remotely. While the majority of our clinicians work Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., there may be opportunities for evening and weekend work if your availability does not fit a traditional schedule.
The Department of Psychiatry's ambulatory clinic is located near the Hamburg area of Lexington at 245 Fountain Ct., Lexington, KY, 40509. This off-campus location provides free onsite parking for employees and patients as well as a primary care/urgent care clinic and retail pharmacy that is accessible for both patients and employees.
