Description of Work
Write, develop, and prepare extension publications, presentations, etc. Utilize social media to disseminate programs. Maintain web site(s). Organize meetings as well as methods of delivery. Oversee and lead data collection and computer data entry for beef cow nutrition and range beef systems research located at Gudmundsen Sandhills Laboratory (Whitman, NE), West Central Water Resources Field Laboratory (Brule, NE), and the West Central Research and Extension Center (North Platte, NE). Create spreadsheets of cow, calf, and yearling data for UNL faculty and graduate students. Conduct the economic analysis of agricultural data from a raw data set to categorize and develop parameters and methodology to evaluate data. Maintain records of field research and data by updating collected data from multiple harvest seasons to identify and analyze trends and/or anomalies beginning to form. From these data sets, prepare summaries for review and/or inclusion in manuscripts, abstracts, and/or research journals and proceedings.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus one year of communications related experience; equivalent education/experience considered. Experience must demonstrate ability to write effectively. Word processing and spreadsheet software program skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, agricultural economics, economics, statistics, business, agriculture, crop science, animal science, agronomy, computer or information science, or similar field. Project management experience. Statistical analysis and presentation software program skills. Familiarity with current local, regional, and national agronomic practices, research procedures, methodologies, and theories.
