Job Purpose
To teach and perform service in the Department of English.

Essential Functions
The successful candidates will teach Composition I and II as well as Learning Support sections of Composition, as the need arises. Additionally, the successful candidates will perform departmental duties (e.g. committee service). Standard departmental teaching load is 4/4. The successful candidates may have an opportunity to mentor graduate students and must have the ability to teach courses online or using other delivery methods as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
MA in English or closely related field from an accredited institution by August 1, 2024. Effective college-level teaching experience of Composition I and II as well as experience working with basic writers. The candidate must possess a commitment to the continued improvement of teaching, utilizing research-based practices, the ability to interact effectively with students and faculty, and a willingness to serve in the department.

Preferred Qualifications
Earned PhD in English or closely related field from an accredited institution by August 1, 2024. Substantial experience teaching Composition I and II as well as experience working with basic writers. Substantial graduate-level coursework in composition, rhetoric, and/or writing pedagogy. Evidence of teaching excellence and professional development.

Work Hours:

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine month, non-tenure-track positions to begin August 1, 2024. Three year contract renewable based on satisfactory annual reviews, needs of department and future funding.
