Location: OnSite only Grand Island, NE
Description: The Applications and Data Administrator is responsible for the coordination, management, and training of the District’s business software applications, and provides analysis and presentation of the data created through the use of these business application. The Applications and Data Administrator ensures that accurate and precise data and its interpretation supplement the project management process of Southern Public Power District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Within the limits of approved board policies, operating guides and procedures; the Applications and Data Administrator assumes responsibility and has commensurate authority for the following activities:
• Manage the District’s suite of business and operations software, including implementations, enhancements, and software upgrades.
• Manage data utilized by the District’s Load Management system.
• Assist with management of the District’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meters.
• Generate reports based on the data collection for presentation to administration.
• Responsible for maintenance of SPPD’s work management processes, including mobile applications used in the field.
• Provide training, troubleshooting, and guidance to users of the various softwares used at SPPD.
• Act as a liaison between the District and customer support for the applications detailed above.
• Develop process improvements for data management activities under established cybersecurity guidelines.
• Maintains documentation for the processes and procedures of the position.
• Assist with implementation and maintenance of information systems hardware, software, communications, and other equipment supporting the collection of the District’s data. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
• Standard knowledge of end-user computer operating systems and server operating systems such as Windows, Mac, iOS, and Linux Distros.
• Experience with data management software will be necessary (Excell, Access, SQL, etc.)
• Experience working with and writing basic computer scripts.
• Experience with NISC’s iVue and associated applications is preferred.
• A basic understanding of network communication flow is preferable (DNS, IP addresses, FQDN, etc)

• Effectively translate business needs into technical solutions and implement those solutions.
• Develop precise and accurate plans when making changes to in-production resources.
• Effectively communicate with co-workers when collaborating on projects.

• Maintain an open-door and open-mind policy when it comes to district IT systems support.
