On-Call Facility Probation Officer
On-call shift hours vary and may change due to the needs of service and staff availability. Shift hours vary to include evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Being available to work weekends and overnights are a requirement and will be a major component in the selection process.
This position performs skilled professional corrections work monitoring juvenile residents in a 24/7, non-secure detention/residential facility. The employee oversees and controls security functions and implements gender specific therapeutic programming related to the care, custody, and well-being of resident through the principles of direct monitoring. The work involves an element of personal danger and physical exertion. The incumbent must be able to make independent decisions and exercise independent judgment in responding to emergencies. Work is performed primarily in an institutional setting.
Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, psychology/sociology, social work or related field. Applicant must have a valid driver's license and be 21 years of age. Preference for experience working with youth in treatment, corrections, or probation environment. CPR and first aid certifications are desirable. Final selection includes background check, pre-employment exam, and drug testing.
Pay: $23.50 per hour.
