North Platte Community Playhouse
The Executive Director, in cooperation with the Board of Directors, is responsible for the leadership and management of the North Platte Community Playhouse, including strategic planning, goal setting, financial planning, and fund and budget development. This individual is responsible for meeting the objectives regarding the organization's mission and will report to, and act as an advisor to, the Board of Directors. The Executive Director must be an excellent communicator and be able to manage a staff of creative individuals. The Executive Director oversees the duties of House Manager, Administrative Assistant, and any other NPCP personnel, and conducts annual evaluations of staff. The Executive Director needs to be able to coordinate a professional community of diverse constituents, as well as mediate conflicting ideas. Above all, the North Platte Community Playhouse Executive Director must be someone who can inspire the staff, patrons, and the local community.
RESPONSIBILITIES
" Oversees all business management of the theatre and the coordination of all activities, including the planning and implementation of the annual theater season, with assistance from the Playhouse Reading Committee and the Board.
" Oversees the promotion and marketing of the theatre, including annual direct mail appeals, press releases, traditional and social media, the NPCP web site, traffic monitoring, ticket sales, emails, newsletters, campaigns to build ticket sales, membership, donor and audience databases, and all any other necessary marketing materials and campaigns.
" Hires and provides direct supervision of theatre staff in compliance with the latest Board of Directors approved Personnel Handbook. Works to ensure that all personnel practices conform to best practices and to federal, state, and local laws.
" Works with Board of Director's Finance Committee/treasurer to develop annual operating and capital budgets.
" Works with the Board to oversee planning and implementation of capital expenditures and facility improvements that will grow annual revenue.
" Works with Board of Directors to plan, organize, direct and expand the fundraising program and campaigns; oversees a major gifts program that involves identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding current and prospective corporate, community, foundation, and individual donors; and oversees membership renewals.
" Writes grants, maintains a grant writing database, and builds and sustains relationships with current, new and potential grant-giving organizations and individuals.
" Administers fiscal responsibilities in accordance with prudent accounting procedures.
" Represents NPCP to the state and local theatre community, government agencies, funders, businesses, press and constituencies through active involvement in events and programs,
" Maintains a visible leadership role in the community and work closely with Board of Directors to fulfill and advance NPCP's mission,
" Works with Board of Directors in strategic and long-range planning and organizational development,
" Ensures that NPCP operates at the highest national levels of non-profit governance, fiscal prudence and programmatic/production excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS (subject to Board discretion)
" Minimum three years' experience in charitable fund development
" Has a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience In the non-profit sector
" Familiarity with theatre operations is preferred
" Ability to gain the respect and support of various constituencies, including board and staff, donors, foundations, volunteers, and community leaders
" Demonstrated success in securing major and annual gifts from foundations, corporations, and individuals
" Demonstrated success in meeting annual fund goals, generating income, grant writing, sponsorships and special events
" Documented experience in managing people and budgets
" Excellent written/oral communication skills, computer literate
" Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy
" Ability to work in a hands-on environment with limited resources
" Strong entrepreneurial self-starter attitude

REQUIREMENTS
Due to the educational focus of NPCP and interaction with interns, apprentices, and youth programs and audiences, the Executive Director will be required to successfully pass a background check.
The Executive Director may be a part time or full time, salaried employee. The position requires flexible time requirements for evenings and weekends. The Executive Director should establish regular business/contact hours, as communicated to the Board of Directors. Compensation will be competitive for an organization of NPCP's size. The Executive Director will be evaluated monthly for six months by the Executive Committee of the Board, and yearly thereafter in the anniversary month of his/her hiring date.
