Assistant Professor of Biology
Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor of Biology who will specialize in Anatomy and Physiology. This is a full-time, fixed-term (non-tenure-track) faculty position with annual renewal to begin Fall 2020. Responsibilities:
Faculty responsibilities include teaching twelve credit hours per term, fall and spring semesters. Teaching assignments will be primarily in Anatomy and Physiology and include both lecture and lab courses. Student support through coordination with tutors and teaching assistants from the Cooper Center for Academic Resources is strongly encouraged. This position entails shared responsibility for obtaining and caring for cadavers. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in advising and student recruitment activities, to attend department and faculty meetings, and to serve the institution through committee work. Opportunities to teach other courses in the department and to supervise undergraduate research are available.

Qualifications:
Required:
- A terminal degree in Biology or related field, or minimum requirement of a Master's degree in Biology or Anatomy and/or Physiology
- Demonstrated interpersonal and innovative teaching skills
- Strong commitment to student-centered active learning and student engagement activities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty and students
Preferred:
- A PhD in Biology or related field is preferred
- Familiarity with Canvas course technology or similar LMS software
- Experience teaching anatomy and/or physiology at the college level
- Experience with human cadaveric and animal specimen dissection
- Postdoctoral research experience
- Experience in engaging undergraduate students in research
