Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The Department of Athletic Faculty at Kutztown University invites applications for a twelve-month, tenure track faculty position for an Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. The position reports to the Athletic Director and is responsible for ensuring departmental compliance with all Kutztown University, NCAA, and PSAC rules and regulations. This position will provide leadership and oversight of a comprehensive Division II compliance program in all matters pertaining to the monitoring, interpreting, educating, documenting, and investigating of all institutional, NCAA and conference rules and regulations; submit required NCAA and PSAC reports; and serves as liaison to the NCAA and PSAC on all compliance rules interpretations. This position will also serve on the senior leadership team and will participate in the development and coordination of programs, policies, and procedures for all sports. The position often requires working evenings, weekends, and holidays throughout the year. 

 Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish appropriate departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all NCAA, PSAC and university rules and regulations
  • Provide rules education to both internal and external constituents to ensure a culture of compliance and institutional control at Kutztown University
  • Arrange and conduct preseason NCAA certification meetings to coordinate completion of compliance forms
  • Monitor progress-towards-degree and other NCAA, conference, and university academic eligibility requirements
  • Prepare departmental and conference academic reports as well as complete all required conference and NCAA compliance reports (ie: NCAA Academic Tracking and Graduation Rate reports)
  • Collaborate with the Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) to enhance communication and establish partnerships with members of the faculty, the offices of Financial Aid, Registrar, and Admissions
  • Ensure accurate certification of initial and continuing student-athlete eligibility as well as the processing of student-athlete NLI/grant-in-aid agreements
  • Serve as liaison with NCAA Eligibility Center
  • File waivers and process releases (eg: hardship, two-year college transfers)
  • Monitor playing and practice season limitations for intercollegiate sports
  • Monitor receipt of recruiting logs for intercollegiate sports
  • Prepare eligibility lists for all intercollegiate sports
  • Hire, evaluate, and supervise student interns and student employees
  • Assist with game day operations, event coverage, and team travel as assigned
  • Responsible for attending weekly operations meetings, department staff meetings, and providing updates on issues involving events, scheduling and facilities
  • Serves as a member of University committees as necessary
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
  • Master's degree in a relevant field; 
  • Minimum of four years of experience in NCAA DI or DII compliance office; 
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office; 
  • Experience with NCAA databases and websites (eg: LSDBi, Compliance Assistant, Requests/Self-Reports Online); 
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication;
  • Strong presentation skills to present clear and accurate information
  • Experience with ARMS Compliance Software, 
  • Experience with Banner Student Information Software.
