Position Summary
The Dietetic Assistant is responsible for obtaining patient meal and nourishment selections in accordance with diet orders and nutrition interventions.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school degree or equivalent.
Credentials
State Required: None
GPRMC Required/Preferred: None
Physical Demands
Stand and/or walk constantly.
Sit for extended amount of time.
Bend, stoop and kneel occasionally.
Visual acuity, color vision, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are required.
Essential Functions
Enters patient meal requests accurately in accordance with diet order.
May assist tray line building patient trays.
May assist in preparing food items for meal prep.
May assist serving trays to patients.
May assist in removal of trays from patient rooms and report or chart intake of meals, snacks and supplements.
Communicates patient's special needs, diet preferences or changes to Dietitian for follow up.
Track supplement stock and build weekly order form.
May assist Dietitian with assessments upon completion of an ADA certified program as a Dietetic Technician.
