Great Plains Health is seeking a Cardiologist (Interventional) to provide full-time inpatient, outpatient & clinic cardiology services for patients at the Hospital, its clinics, & outreach clinics. Will specialize in diagnosing & treating conditions & diseases of heart & blood vessels using nonsurgical, catheter-based procedures & specialized imaging techniques. Examine & treat coronary artery disease, heart valve disorders, & congenital heart disease, and other heart problems. Evaluate patient medical history. Promote heart disease prevention. Educate on heart health & heart disease prevention. Perform physical exams (blood pressure, vital signs, weight and health of heart, lungs, & blood vessels). Order & interpret laboratory & imaging tests. Diagnose & treat acute & chronic diseases & conditions that affect heart & blood vessels (coronary heart disease, angina, arrhythmias, & heart attack) Prescribe appropriate medications. Screen, treat & monitor conditions known to increase risk of heart disease. Perform procedures including cardiac catheterization & coronary angioplasty. Consult with & provide follow-up care for cardiology patients, including heart care & preventative measures. Prepare & provide admin documentation & diagnosis for coding, including dictation of cardiology evals. Participate in QA. Perform medical audits. Provide clinical supervision & education to Hospital staff. Full-time, 40 hours/week with on-call coverage & weekend duty. Monthly travel to outreach clinics in nearby counties. Requires MD or ECFMG equiv; completed residency IM residency, Cardiovascular Disease fellowship and Interventional Cardiology fellowship training; BC in IM & Cardiovascular Disease; Nuclear Cardiology cert; BE in Interventional Cardiology; and current NE medical license.
