Gothenburg Health is seeking an experienced environmental services professional to lead the EVS function. This role has overall responsibility for the cleanliness of the facility. The Director of EVS provides best in class delivery of environmental hygiene including linen services. This role works closely with nursing staff to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness in patient areas. The position expectation is management of staff and administration while being a working leader.
Key Accountabilities
Establishes and reviews standards and work procedures for all Housekeeping staff
Plans work and staffing schedules and areas of work to ensure adequate services are rendered
Orients, develops, and supervises all supervisory/housekeeping staff
Monthly reporting of goals, accomplishments, and future plans
Leads and coordinates staff education and training
Communication with staff, administration, and other departments
Coordination of outside services (i.e. Pest Control, Window Cleaning, Medical and Solid Waste, Document Destruction)
Minimum Qualifications
Two year college degree or equivalent work experience required
At least one year of supervisory experience in housekeeping or service-related field with high customer/client contact required
Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations
Ability to multi-task and establish
Ability to maintain organization in a changing and stressful environment
Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership
Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures
