East Stroudsburg University is hiring a Laborer! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU's proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country's largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.
As the Laborer, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable loading and unloading trucks with supplies and other equipment. You will be an active member of the Facilities Management team and will work to assist the ground crew as needed. To be successful in this role, you must detail-oriented, flexible and able to work independently.
Your normal hours will be Tuesday - Saturday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, but you may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Laborer. When our team shows up for work, they are energized and motivated to succeed - all while being the most crucial piece to keeping the ESU operations humming.

What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)
- Move furniture and supplies to and from campus offices, classrooms, residential halls, apartments, and suites.
- Assist ground crew as needed with snow removal, by shoveling snow or usage of snow blowers and spreading calcium.
- Load and unload trucks with supplies and other equipment.
- Participate in setting up tables, chairs, stages, canopies, or any other items for special events both indoors and outdoors.
- Operate motor vehicles up to 2.5 tons, forklifts, and campus vehicles. Larger equipment may be operated while being trained.
- Perform collection of recycling materials from campus buildings.
- Deliver supplies and paper to Campus buildings.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
- No previous training or experience is required for this position, however, the ability to understand and follow oral and written directions is required.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, and understand the English language, including oral communication.
- Basic computer skills, web browser for email and compliance training. Professional work experience with Microsoft Office, such as Teams, Word, Excel, etc.
- Valid Driver's License.
