The purpose of this class is to assist international and immigrant students with program development, advisement, interpretation, and adherence to federal regulations and CCBC policies and procedures.

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.

Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Development, Counseling, Education or related field. Five (5) years progressive experience and responsibility in enrollment management. Designated School Official (DSO) with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security required. Experience working with international, multi-lingual and multicultural students required.

  1. Identify resources and tools that can assist students with their individual needs.
  2. Conduct workshops and presentations, as required.
  3. Provide academic advisement services, as required.
  4. Serve on appropriate departmental, division and college-wide committees.
  5. Maintain department records and files, as required.
  6. Prepare, analyze and provide reports, as requested.

  1. Access the USCIS/SEVIS (Student Exchange and Visitor Information System) database to create and to regularly update students' immigration records in the form of the Certificate of Eligibility (Government Form I-20).
  2. Assure the secure transmission of the Form I-20 to the student by following the guidelines established by USCIS.
  3. Regularly interface with SEVIS officials to update, maintain and correct students' immigration records
  4. Attend frequent trainings sponsored by USCIS, SEVIS and NAFSA to remain up-to-date on federal immigration policy and procedural changes
  5. Collect and maintain F-1 Visa holder's admissions and attendance records, according to federal regulations.
  6. Provide post-admission Student and Exchange Visitor information System (SEVIS) recordkeeping and reports to ensure federal compliance.
  7. Adhere to CCBC policies and procedures to ensure federal and state compliance.
  8. Recruit future graduates, both international and immigrants,to educational opportunities offered by CCBC.
  9. Support and enhance the academic achievement of international and immigrant students throughout their tenure at CCBC.
  10. Advise current international students on immigration status, academic plans, financial needs and social issues.
  11. Provide co-leadership to the ISS Clubs (International Student Club or English Conversation Club).
  12. Participate in the development and implementation of college-wide enrollmentdevelopment and retention initiatives for international and immigrant students.
  13. Communicate CCBC enrollment policies and procedures to current and prospective students.
  14. Compile and maintain accurate reports.
  15. Maintain accurate student intake files and correspondence for prospective and current students.
