The Claremore Indian Hospital (CIH), Indian Health Services (IHS) has a requirement for dental assistant services. The Dental Assistant will support the dental team by performance of a range of clinical functions. This position allows the dental team to smoothly function and better serve the intended population. This is a full-time, 8-hour per day, Monday - Friday position. Perform chairside assisting duties in all phases of restorative, prosthetic, endodontic, periodontic, pedodontic, and oral surgical treatment provided in general dentistry. Correctly exposes and mounts intra and extra-oral radiographs. Provides routine rubber cup and prophylaxis and applies topical fluoride treatment as assigned by the dentist. Places it and fissure sealants as prescribed by the dentist. Relays to patient's post-operative instructions, disease prevention techniques, and home care instructions. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of all instruments, materials, and procedures normally used in all phases of restorative, prosthodontic, oral surgical, endodontic and periodontal treatment. Knowledge of dental anatomy and ability to properly expose and mount diagnostic radiographs. Ability to explain to patient's post-operative instructions, disease prevention techniques, and home care instructions. Knowledge of steps and techniques required for the placement of sealants on teeth. Knowledge and skill of tooth isolation techniques required to maintain a dry field of placement of restorations and sealants. Knowledge of sterilization techniques. Dental Assistant Certification OR 1 year of experience in Dental Assistance Proficient with MS Office Suite
